WROTE THIS A LONG WHILE BACK, BUT IT ADDS TO THE TUTORIALS :D
Retrieving IP's By 2050
Welcome....this is a basic tutorial and will deal with the basics of retrieving IP's.
What is an IP?
An IP stands for internet protocol and is a number which a client of an ISP is given. An IP
distinguishes a remote/server from the millions out there. The IP is broken down into four
sections.
METHOD 1
First open up a DOS prompt (Type command at run)
Now establish a direct connection, if its a remote (computer) you want to get then you must send
a file, when the file is a sending then in the DOS prompt type netstat -n, you will get a list
of all connections that are had with your computer. To find the one you want you must find out
the port that is being used.
MSN MESSENGER USES PORT 1863
YAHOO MESSENGER USES PORT 5050
AIM 5190
ICQ 5190
The way you find the port out is easy.
12.34.456.789:80 <-- This number is the port
Easy isnt it :D
METHOD 2
THis method you need an email from the person you want the IP of.
Go to options in your email account and find a place to turn headers on either full or
advanced.
METHOD 3
THis method will need you to research further or have the ability to install and host CGI scripts.
But when the script is installed all you do is check the log file in CGI-Bin and you will see the
IP's.
There are other methods but these involve installing a program (pager) on the victims computer.
